The basic signs of readiness for potty training are: 1. she can say pee, poop, potty, diaper and knows what the difference is. 2. she tries to pull her pants up and down (my doctor suggested this, but I don't think it's a high priority). 3. when there's a potty in sight she's comfortable sitting on it and knows what goes in it.
My daughter has had a potty since 12 months. She's 17 months now and I started potty training today. She already tells us poop when she's about to go so today I'm trying to teach her what it feels like to pee. There are so many methods out there that you just need to choose what is best for you and your daughter. I chose to take my daughter to the potty every hour so that when she does actually pee I can praise her and she will eventually learn that that feeling she just had was what it feels like to pee. After she's learned what it feels like for both and can tell us when she needs to go, we'll switch her to panties and make potty training more of a priority where as now it's more of if she goes she goes if not oh well. She did go pee in her pull up this morning after just being on the potty, but it's not a big deal and was able to actually feel wet for a change unlike in a diaper. If you don't think your daughter is ready, don't push it. She'll let you know.

I think age 3 is the best age for it. I believe that they understand the concept of it better at that age. You also want to make sure that your baby is showing intrest in the potty. If they are not your not going to have an easy time training.

Quoting Rachel:
It's all about your child... It will happen, it takes patience and they will have accidents!! No parent nor child has the right answer... Just stick with routine and be firm and things will work out just fine...
I totally agree with her!! My first wasnt potty trained until 3yrs old and my 2nd was fully potty trained by 26 months. It depends on the child. The only thing I would say is that it doesnt hurt to introduce it as soon as they are recognizing you do it. I had a friend that starting sitting her son on the potty at 13-15 months old... no pressure just introducing it. Made the whole process a lot easier b/c there was no pressure. Good Luck and remember they can tell if you are stressing out about it and it will make it that much harder. Dont have any expectations and just go with the willingness and interest of your child.

3daypottytrainer.com Lora Jensen is the self-proclaimed potty training queen, and she says that all children, boys and girls, at the age of 22 months (not a day sooner) can be potty trained by the end of three days. I know what your thinking, yeah whatever right... I thought that too, but after I checked her out, I gave her technique a try. Bought her $20.00 e-book, she also gives one on one mentoring during the 3 day process, and I am happy to say that my little girl was potty trained by the end of 3 days, just like she said! THIS REALLY WORKS! Check it out!

most doctors will tell u to start potty training at 18 mths. But my aunt told me that when the baby hits 18 mths is a good time to start and that the baby should be putting 2 to3 word sentences togather
