My four year old daughter has been totally potty trained, not even occasional accidents, for over a year. Suddenly, starting yesterday, she decides to poop in the yard! At first I wondered if she thought she couldn't hold it, BUT she came inside, got a roll of toilet paper, THEN went back out and did her business in the yard! Worse, she scooped it into a cup we (formerly)used to drink out of!!
This is not good, we have neighbors on both sides of us and who knows what kind of pervs could be lurking! Well, we talked to her about it, and she promised not to do it anymore. Then today, I catch her carrying a roll of toilet paper outside, about to do it again! I do NOT want this to continue. I can keep a closer watch on her, but what I can't figure out is WHY??? Why all of a sudden is she doing this? Has anyone else experienced this?

Oh, this is too funny! Probably not for you, but from an outsider's view. Do you have any dogs? Maybe she's taken notice that dogs and other animals poop in their yards, so she wants to do it too..

I wish you'd gotten some answers.
We are to our wits end with our 5 year old granddaughter we have custody of. She's been potty trained since she was 2. Now all the sudden she's taken to peeing and pooping outside on the porch. She'll walk past a bathroom, go through a doggy door and go on the porch. What!?!?!?! Then while we were having a Yard Sale, she went under a table, with people walking around. OMG!!!
We don't know what to do. How to discipline it. How to talk to her about it, and fix it. We talk to her, she says "Okay, I understand" and then does it again. We don't know how to make it stop. And it's not constantly. It's just randomly here and there. And there is always a bathroom available. No younger siblings getting all the attention. She's not doing it at school. We are stumped and getting more and more frustrated!
