Similar to the other comment - our kid's doctor offered that we should make our daughter clean up her own mess. She peed on the carpet at Gandma's, had to take her wet clothes to the basement, get dressed, and use a towel to soak up the carpet. No problems since. No reward system's any more either - just praise. My problem with the rewards is ending them. I tried that and as soon as the rewards went away, she started refusing to go to the bathroom again. Going at daycare is just fun since everyone else is doing it. Going at home with Mom or Dad clearly isn't as exciting.

Thanks for the advice. The candy thing is getting old with me...I just don't feel right reqarding her with junk food. I like the accumulating of stickers and being able to pick something at the store. That show's that with 'work' comes rewards...THANKS!!!

Hi Tonya....that is right keep trying until she feels comfortable to go at home. I remember dropping my daughter off at daycare and they told me that I might want to start bringing in panties for her. I was shocked because she wasn't going at home, but was doing great at school. I know this sounds cruel, but it worked for us. I put her in panties at home instead of a pull up. I aksed her if she had to potty and she told me no then proceeded to wet herself. My house is all carpet except by the door, kitchen and bathrooms. I mad her stand by the door in her wet clothes for about 2 mins and then sent her to the bathroom to be washed up. After that she started using the potty at home with no problems.

The other thing I did at home with her prior to finding out she was a regular at school, was a potty chart. I placed it on the back of her bathroom door and hung a basket on the wall that contained smiley face stickers and Wow, Terrific type of stickers. Everytime she went potty I gave her a smiley face sticker for her chart then one for her. When she went poop she recieved a Wow or Terrific sticker for her chart along with a smiley face for her. After receiving 5 stickers in a week she was allowed to go to the store and pick out whatever toy she wanted. We went to the potty chart because I had to find another incentive other then candy.

Good luck you will find what works for you and your little girl.

She has a potty that is also one of those step stools. I have removed the seat and placed it the regular toilet as well as leaving it in the stool on the floor - fights me on both. She has not fallen into any toilet - home or daycare. The only thing that I can think of is that the toilets at daycare are smaller/lower and because she has to step on a foot stool to sit on ours it scares her. I did have better luck with her today as the day went on. I guess you just keep trying anything and everything - right???

Does she have her own little potty at home? If not has she fallen into the regular potty at home?

If she uses a regular toilet when out and has a small one at home she may go if you put her on the regular potty.

If she uses the regular one and has only fallen in at home that may be her aversion to it.

Potty training is really hard. Best of luck!
