My son turned 4 in March. I'm pretty sure he's got an obsession with his penis. He is touching it all the time. Even when I catch him and tell him to stop, he tells me he isn't touching it... Is this normal? Please tell me he'll grow out of it before school starts!

And we've never had a problem at school because eventually he figured out it's not something you do around other people.

Like I said send him to his room every time. He's only 4 it's something exciting for him, eventually he'll learn. You just have to keep telling him it's a private thing that you don't do in public. I have a 6 year old that prefers to be naked I pick my battles, he can be naked but if he's touching himself he needs to go into his room or the bathroom.

We do tell him that no one wants to see his penis (he likes to be naked too), that he should go to his room. I just don't know how to keep him from doing it ALL the time. His hands are constantly on his crotch! Most of the time it is both hands.

It's completely normal. I wouldn't tell him not to touch it, teach him that he needs to go into his bedroom or the bathroom if he wants to touch it. Everytime he does it gently remind him it's not something you do around other people and that he should go to his room.
