Toddler waking in middle of night...HELP!?!!!

I have 2 1/2 yro twin girls who share a room. One has recently started crying out in the middle of night and we started to grab her because we didn't want her to wake her sister...and now we've created a monster. Now she won't go back to sleep until we take her or else she screams & cries until she wakes her sister up and then we end up with both in our bed.

We've tried separating them, we've tried letting her cry it out, we've tried having Grandma go in instead of mommy & daddy and all have worked for a week or two and then we end up back to square one.

I don't know if it's nightmares? allergies? molars? I could go on and on, but I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and what they recommend doing....any advice is appreciated.

I hear ya! My 3 year old daughter shares a room with her 5 yr old brorther and out of nowhere in the middle of the night she starts crying and at first it was easier just to pick her up and put her into bed, then it became an every night thing, everytime she realised she was in her own bed she would start freaking out. In the end we started saying that if she would get through the week then at the weekend we would take her and buy her a little present, after a month or so that stopped working and the we used Santa, and tell her santa was watching and if she cried he wouldnt give her any presents...i have to remind her in the mornings, and after i get in from work and constantly say to her that she is a good girl and won't cry and reinforcing it.

Its tough and she still does it still at least once a week, we walk her back to her room, sometimes even lie in her bed and then creep out, its not ideal but gets us through the night,
