How to tame active toddlers especially when playing?

LOL i know the feeling! I have an EXTREMELY busy and active 2 1/2 year old boy. I find that rain or shine, he is best kept busy outside. Bike riding, bug hunting, chasing a ball etc... But it's not always possible to play outside so keeping them busy inside is a little more of a challenge. Try keeping a stash of "new" toys - aka toys that he hasn't seen in a while hidden away and only bring them out once in a while. Children forget about long lost toys, so rotating them is always a good idea. Find out what he's really interested in, such as cars, trains, dinosaurs etc...(I'm assuming you have a boy judging from your picture...) and keep special ones for times he really seems like he needs some re direction. Toddlers also love to build towers and knock them down again. They can be kept busy doing this for hours it seems! There is a small book you can buy pretty much anywhere they sell books called the Toddler Busy Book. You might find it helpful. Good luck!

My son is now almost 4 and he is still hyper but it does get better there are things he can sit down and do now like he watches cartoons and colors, likes puzzles but it took a long time to be able to do so, once someone comes in though he gets hyper again and acts like he doesnt have a brain lol. I would say to get him involved in sit down activities like those but only for short peroids and see how well he handles it. and once they are in preschool they get to calm down a little more
