For the past two weeks my son (2years old) has been wetting the bed WHILE STILL WEARING A DIAPER. He isent soaking through the diapers, the diaper isent too small or too big but somehow he is peeing around the diaper. my mom gave me the advice to point his penis downward but thats hard to do (not to mention painful) when he is hard. I have been changing his clothes and bedding atleast twice a night. I need some advice, is anyone else having this same problem or found a solution?

I always pointed his penis downwards and it never seemed painful, even when hard. Maybe he was just used to it. I used cloth nappies with him. At night we used a bamboo nappy with extra boosting and a wool cover. Only had one or two leaks over 2 and a bit years.

Maybe put a small piece of cloth (like half a face-washer) inside the disposable nappy. That should stop the wee shooting past and allow the absorbant stuff in the nappy to do it's work.

I have this problme with my 2 yr old son. I change him and point him down and he still pees. Not every night but most nights. It is hard to stop fluids before bed since he drinks a sippy before sleep for comfort. If yours can get away with no fluid intake an hour before bed at least maybe that would help. I even bought the most expensive diapers and nothing. Let me know if you have any luck. I wish I had better advice just letting you know your not alone. My son sneaks into bed with me every night too so imagine my wake up......yay. right!

Point it downward, and buy overnight diapers that's what we had to do for my son.

Your mum is right aboutn pointing him downwards and then also using a girls nappy to help soak up the pee. Also stop giving him a drink an hour before bed allowing his kidneys time to process some of the days liquid and pee it out again before bed. If you want to protect your bed then use a disposable changing mat. I think pampers make them in packs of 5. Put him to bed lying on that and just throw it away should the nappy leak.
