Hi. My son, 13 months old. Eats only jarred baby food . Now I would like to give him the same food we eat, but he refuses everything I cook for him. Have you had the same problem?

Can anyone help? Thx.

Mashed potatoes with lite gravy was the only thing my son would take at first. Other things that helped were mashing up peas and mac n cheese. Maybe hes not ready for table food yet? Not all kids progress the same way. Other things I tried that worked out great were taking part of the jarred food and mixing it with table food for a while then slowing mixing les baby food into it. Is he a self feeder?

Put his food in a small food chopper/processor. My favorite brand is "CuisineArt". (I have gone thru a few) It grinds food to a puree. I would start with the foods that you eat with your spices/seasonings, add a little bit of water until you reach proper consistency. Do this for a while until he gets used to the flavors, then chop them up a little less, and start giving him stuff that he can take to his mouth with his hands and chew. He may just need to get used to the way the food you cook tastes.

Then try dipping his breads into gravy or potatoes. Might give him a taste for it.
