My 2 1/2 year old seems to poop every night and instead of yelling for our attention, it seems she tries to "clean it up" herself. This means either taking her pull up off or trying to scoop it out with various toys and objects around her room. Even the few times we catch her in time to get to the potty for some of the poop, she tries to play with it! Why does she want to stick her hands in the poop??? Is that something other people deal with?

Thanks. I wasn't upset at her at all. I'm just wondering if there is something I could do to stop it and if it's a normal phase they go though.

Yes, this is something people deal with. She is a toddler. That is what they do! My sis popped her diaper once and had it wiped all over the crib, wall, and herself. Did my mom had a fit? No, she cleaned up my sis and the mess and changed the bed and clothes. And then she went on. You should be glad your daughter is attempting to try to clean things up even if she uses the toys. Not the best way, but she is trying. Instead of being upset and horrified about it, teach her how to clean up her mess, she can learn. If she is showing interest in potty training work on that but do not force it. Get used to this....my own daughter was potty trained and she would refuse to go to the bathroom when she had to go at the age of 3 because she was too busy to do it. She would go clean up and put on clean underpants later and I did not know it until I found a pile of underware one day.
