My 17 month old son has entered a mildly new phase... not eating any meals that are put in front of him. Yesterday at lunch, he lost his mind when i wouldn't let him eat ketchup for lunch! I thought that sitting him at the table in a 'big boy chair' with us would help, and it did, but only for a week or so. Now when i put a plate of food in front of him, he throws it. Some days its the whole plate that gets tossed, other days its just the food. Either way, he wont eat it. If he can't find something disgusting to eat (aka ketchup) he'll grab my plate (or the food off of it) and throw it on the floor. No amount of discipline gets through to him at meal time either, trust me I've tried. Once we're done eating, he stands at his chair screaming and crying because he wants pretzels, oranges or cheese (all he eats). How do i get him to eat other things, eat with us at the table or even keep the food on the plate? help!
