Do cheap generic diapers cause more rashes?

We started using the "Night-time" diapers, and a size larger than our son normally wears for bed at night. Combine that with Vasaline, or even just some Desatin, and it works well for him. He always has a poopy diaper in the morning, and seems to go alot at night (which terrifies me for potty-training!) so these diapers plus pasting the butt have helped.

my daughter has never had a diaper rash in her 14 months of life and as a young single mom i'm always looking for the cheapest diapers i can find. the only "name brand" diapers she was ever in was the ones i got from family or friends frommy baby shower.i think any diaper will cause a rash if they're not changed enough and i think some babies are also just more prone to diaper rash

ok i honestly think that it depends on the child what brand of diapers to use but honestly the best ointment to use is bag balm it is a medicated ointment that is used for cow teets but i use it on myself as well on my hands and feet and my sons exema it is the best!!

For all of you Pampers users, do you have girls or boys? I have a son, and Pampers leaked so badly on him. It was a horrible, ugly mess! I have used almost all types of diapers, and my son can use any. I prefer the Target Up and Up brand, but he can use Kirkland or Parent's Choice too. I like Huggies also, but they are pricey unless you can get a good deal at Costco.

in my experience they sure do... i had tryed them all and the only diapers i every can used that dont is pampers, i have 10 nephew and nieces and 3 grandbabys and i baby sat them all besides friends babys i had baby sit so take my word for it if ur baby has a rash that wont seem to get better it has to be the diapers,

I'm a Pampers nut, too. My daughters both have very sensitive skin and Pampers diapers and wipes were the only thing that kept them rash-free. Now with Pull-Ups, we prefer Huggies to Pampers...why? I have no clue. LOL. They don't seem to irritate as badly as the diapers did.
I also have to say, if you're having rash issues...BUTT PASTE all the way. We have tried everything...and this stuff works overnight. Seriously. It does stain, so you have to be careful...but it's gold in a tube. Ha!

I really think it depends on the baby. My daughter broke out with most all diapers except for Pampers. My son has not had any problems except for WITH Pampers! LOL So, with my son I don't buy any diapers except for generic! They work just as well and they are a lot cheaper. I would just say you have to find out by trial and error to see which ones work best for your baby.

Pampers pampers pampers, they are all I will use, I don't care how much they are! ALL others I try cause a rash or else they leak really bad. I have actually bought other brands and then gone back to the store to get the Pampers because they are the BEST!

My DD always got rashes from cheap diapers, but then again, also from lavender bath products, milk, and dairy. lol. But my sisters' kid also got rashes from "cheap" diapers. I want to buy generic pull ups for night but am worried bc of her sensitive skin.

I have three kids. The oldest I used Pampers the whole time and had no trouble. My son was born and I immediately started using pampers, but he got a rash with them so I had to switch him to Huggies. I have also used the Walmart brand on him and have not had any trouble. My littlest is 7 months and I have used pampers on her the whole time and not had any problems. So I would say that which type of diapers depends on each child. My son has very sensitive skin so that is why I think he had problems. Hope that helps.

I have found the cheap diapers give a rash, as well as loves. If your little girl is big enough you can try the huggies nighttime diapers, they work well. I love the regular Huggies, not the more expensive ones. I have tried them all and they are the only ones I ever use

This is a very good idea, the vasaline. Our biggest problem with rashes happens at night. During some nights she poops and I do not catch it until the morning. When this happens, she ALWAYS gets a TERRIBLE rash. And I feel sooo bad for her. I feel even worse when she's wearing a generic diaper. So thanks for the great advice!

I was told that all diapers are made from different things, some might cause a rash. It is more trial and error to find what works for your little one. I have always used Pampers and never had a problem. I use Pampers because all of my nieces and nephews reacted to other brands except Pampers. Plus I don;t know if it helps or not, but every night before I put my daughter to sleep I put a thin layer of Vasaline on her bum. She has never had a bad diaper rash, just a couple red spots from time to time. Vasaline is cheep and it has worked for my little ones bum!

I use luvs, but I have tried the store brand names and they did cause rashes on my middle girl. I can only use pampers sensitive wipes on her too. If I use any other kind, even the "sensitive" ones, she would go up in a rash...
