Hi all,

My 3 1/2 year old loves Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault. It teaches them the alphabet, we have the cd to sing along, she learned her ABC's in just a couple days. There is also a Chicka Chicka 123. A fun book for even parents

My 3yr old son has so many favorites it is hard to choose. His current favorites are: you can do it sam, I love you forever,  bear feels scared, parts, more parts and Dr. Suess's wish for a fish....

Brenda! The National Wildlife Federation's Wild Animal Baby magazine sounds like a great idea! I will certainly be checking that site out! :) I haven't tried the Fancy Nancy or Llama books yet, but they are on the list! I know what you mean about spending more time in the book section than the toys. HAHAA!!

I agree with Melissa, my 2 yr old daughter LOVES Pinkalicious. She can turn to any page and recite what it says because we have read it so many times! She also loves all of the Fancy Nancy books, especially At The Museum and Sees Stars! The Llama Llama series is another of her favorites (Llama Llama Mad at Mama; Llama Llama Misses Mama; and Llama Llama Red Pajama). My daughter is so into books that when we go to a toy store she spends more time in the book aisle than playing with the toys! I certainly hope it stays that way once she begins school! Because she loves books so much we got her a subscription to the National Wildlife Federation’s Wild Animal Baby magazine (www.nwf.org/kids). She gets a cute little book in the mail every month, and now she loves checking the mail each day to see if her book has come. The books, for ages 1-4, feature a different animal each month. They also feature a letter, a number, activities for same vs. different, finger plays, I Spy games, and other fun learning games!

I think I have read Pinkalicious, and Purpleicious about 9 thousand times today alone!! LOL.(scholastic books) We also read a lot of Biscuit books, Dr. Seuss, Nursery Rhymes (which she memorizes), and many more. My little guy 15 months likes any books that make noise, and chicka chicka abc! etc.

My almost-3-year-old son loves Byron Barton's books (e.g. "Trains," "Trucks," "Machines at Work," "the Three Bears"), Crockett Johnson's "Harold and the Purple Crayon" books, and Lois Ehlert's "Planting a Rainbow" and "Growing Vegetable Soup." He memorizes the stories and then "reads" the books to himself.

The Boynton books are very popular with my twins (Dinasaur's Binkit, Pajama Time, Moo Baa La La La); Bear Snore's On; Ten Little Monkey's; I Love You Through and Through -- to name a few (I could go on and on)
