My daughter is entering preschool and will be saying goodbye to her beloved daycare provider that she has had for three years. I'm looking for the perfect, sentimental gift to give her on my daughter's last day. Any ideas?

I am a pre-school practitioner and I have to say goodbye to children every year as they go up to school. The gifts that I love are usually home made or manufactured especially, this year I received 2 personalised fridge magnets, flowers, home made cards, chocolates and a bracelet, all of which are lovely but the things I keep are the cards which preferably have a photo of the child or of the child and me in them and the words of apreciation mean so much, so I'd say a small gift and a lovely personalised card. I would do something small but sentimental that your child makes, like what has been suggested, and write a thoughtful note to her teacher so she knows how much you appreciate the time she spent in your child's life, but I would also give a monetary gift (gift certificate or something). I hate to say it but it is her job and she is not probably not quite as sentimental about your child as your child and you are about her. That does not mean she doesn't care, and I don't want to suggest that, but she will appreciate the monetary gift more--my child's teacher did! And, preschool teachers do not make nearly what they deserve so it really helps them out. You might also think about asking her if there is something you can donate to her classroom for next year, if you have the additional means (even if it's just a book). That also may be greatly appreciated because it may be something that's helps her do her job better.

have your daughter make her something...my nieces make piggy banks and jewelry boxes with the clorox wipe cases...they paint it and everything, its always a sentimental gift and it can be used always.
