My son is 21 months old and uses an empty bottle as a pacifier during naptime, bedtime and sometimes in the car. I want to break him of it, but I am due to have my 3rd child in 5 days and don't want to deal with him screaming and having an infant to deal with. Any suggestions? Please help!!! He is always asking for his bottle!!!

I agree with both of these ladies. I too have heard the trimming of the nipple and eventually they think it doesn't work anymore so they don't want it. Doing it now is an excellent idea because it's just another things to deal with. Good luck!

The post by Ashley Bowman is what my cousin did with the paicifier - it worked well for her child. He threw them away one by one because they were "yucky".
OR, just take it away when you go in the hospital - by the time you come home in 2 days (someone else having dealt with it) he will be over it.

I heard something great about this the other day. If he is using an empty bottle as a passi pretty much, then you can cut a little off the tip every day untill there is nothing left. This lets it be the childs decision to stope using it. The will look at it and not want it. Hope that helps a little. Good luck with the new addition !
