When my sons, and my kids at daycare, went through this stage, I always put them on backward. If that doesn't work, I would suggest putting underwear on over them. Every kid loves feeling "big" and wearing undies. You could also try pull ups, or Huggies slip on diapers. These are more absorbent than pull ups (like diapers). My kids never took those off when they were little. As someone else said, duct tape is a last resort. Just put a strip over the tabs... Then tear it off at changing time.

Depending on his age, the diaper removing may be a sign that he's ready to try going potty. Some kids are ready to practice at rather young ages. If he wants to watch when you use the bathroom, wants to play with the toilet, does anything to demonstrate that he knows when he is about to go, etc., you might want to give it a try.

Star potty training hm but chances are nighttime potty training will take a while. My son and daughte started doing this at9 months. I bough pjs with zippers that had to feet and put them on backwards. The cant pull the zipper down that way. So you do t have a mess in the morning.

I'd probably try potty training as well - it sounds like he simply doesn't like to be wet/dirty at night so he might potty train fairly easily despite being "young" (and past two is not especially young) as I have found it seems to be primarily driven by how interested the child is in the whole process! He will probably be very interested once he realizes it means no more dirty diapers.

You might also try keeping a baby monitor in his room while you are sleeping - if you can teach him to call for you in the middle of the night and you can hear him even if you are sleeping - that might help as well - either by changing him right away once he starts ripping (to minimize the mess) or in getting him to tell you he needs to go and/or before he starts ripping (to avoid the mess). I never had that problem so I have no idea if it will work but it might.

Invest in duct tape. It may sound silly, but I'm serious.
Make sure the ends of the tape are towards the back, and wrap the diaper in duct tape when you change him. As an added precaution, you can put a full onsie (with legs) on him, but put it on backwards so that the zipper or buttons is towards the back.
It's the only thing that I've heard of working, unless you want to just wait it out. He should grow out of it...at some point :P
Good luck :)
