My 2yr old sucks her thumb all the time. Especially when she is tired. I don't know what to do anymore.

I think you need to chill out a bit. A 2 year old sucking their thumb is pretty normal, especially if she's always been a thumb-sucker. It's not a big deal AT ALL, unless, of course, you make it one. And I have to tell you, aside from cutting it off, you can't stop her from doing it. IMO, at 2years of age your daughter is still a baby. Our society tries to force children to grow up entirely too fast, and parents assume the role of "childish nazi". Let your daughter suck her thumb, she'll stop when she's ready.

My 3 yr old son too sucks his thumb. Just like the other respondents said, you may not be able to wholly stop it but you can talk to the child about the bad effects sucking does to the teeth and finger. It is a gradual step to a stop.

My 2yr old is sucking his thumb as well and i am trying to figure out what to do, but the truth is that you cannot stop them because that is comforting for them, just like a child with a blanket or pacifire.

I have a girl who is 10 and still sucks her thumb. She only does it at night when she is really tired. I dont think there is a way of stopping them. I tried eveything from hot sauce to they stuff that taste terrible nad nothing seem to work. I would just let her do her thing until, she is old enough to were she can understand that it is not a good thing.
