How can I get my son to pee in the toilet instead of all over the seat, floor, and walls?

You could try putting some Cherios or Fruit Loops in the toilet and telling him to try to sink them. Also, remind him to hold onto it to aim. Depending on how old he is, you may do better to let him pee sitting down until he's old enough to understand the concept of aiming. Sometimes they are old enough to start potty training, but still too young to aim. I think my boys were ready to start aiming at about 2 1/2 - 3. I hope this helps.

I haven't tried this personally as my little guy is still at the sit-down stage, but i've heard of people putting a ping-pong ball in the toilet. Along the same lines as the fruit loops idea - it gives them something to aim at and holds their attention. I'm assuming that the ball is too buoyant to go down with the flush.

You could still try the Cherios. That helps with the aiming. You may have to stand in the doorway and remind him to pay attention to what he's doing (and to keep hold of the hose). That was one of the main factors when my boys were learning to aim. They would try to just use their hips instead of holding onto it. The end result wasn't pretty.

He's 4 and has been going on his own for the last year.  He can do it, it's just that his attention seems to go elsewhere in that moment leading to the hose down of our bathroom.  All my other kids are girls and this little guy has just thrown me for a loop!
