My son is 18mo old and eats well; however most nights he wakes up in the middle of the night wanting warm milk in his sippy cup which helps him go back to sleep, but at what point can this be stopped?

My son likes to have a cup at night, mainly to hold for comfort, so I give him water. Sometimes he'll tell me he wants juice or milk at night, but I tell him he gets water at bedtime, juice and milk will hurt his teeth at night. He accepts this, but he is a bit older. I want him to have good dental hygiene and I'm terrified that giving him milk or juice at bedtime will decay his teeth.

switch over to water. You might also need to increase food during the day a little bit because milk is heaver that water so he might be a little bit hungrier now that he won't be getting the milk.
