when someone is talking he wants to run around yelling so all attention is on him and it can get frustrating and a little embarrassing

Our nearly three year old son does this every night at bath time and it drives us crazy. He will sing and yell at the top of his voice. We have just continued to tell him that now we are inside so he has to use his inside voice and he remembers better these days. Of course we make sure he goes outside each day so he can yell to his heart's content too.

i haven't tried that but it sounds good thank you. my youngest is 2 and i'm not sure he is understanding fully how to talk quitely. i have tried to talking to him quietly and he will do it once and thats it then i have even had him help me put his baby stuffed animals to sleep or quiet time and he understands that but then when he's in another room he forgets even when i remind him but i will try the whispering game thanks

My boys are two and three, the older one does not yell as much as he used too (and oh my gosh was he vocal) and the younger one is starting to grow out of it. I play the whisper game with my boys. We tip toe through the house and whisper to each other. They think it is really funny, but it gives me a much needed break. At the same time it teaches them that I can still hear what they are trying to tell me even when they use a soft voice. Good luck and hang in there.....it will be over before you know it! :)
