How many other peoples children have special blankets?

i am very proud to say no absolutely not, habits like this need to be broken at one point my toddler has no pacifier, blankie, or teddy

My two year old daughter does the same lol we call her Linus and if she doesn't have her blanket watch out!!!!

My daughter is three. She used to bring her "2 blankies and 1 baby" everywhere!! But now we have it down to nap time, bed time, home time, car time. I don't let her bring her blankie into stores.... well sometimes the grocery store because she has a good case "its cold." haha so... we are not as weaned as I originally thought!

my 5 year old and 7 year old still have special blankets that they sleep with and refuse to go and spend the night with out them!!!

My oldest son is almost 6 and has two special blankets that he has had since he was born. Blue and yellow he will let only one be washed at a time which can become gross lol

No. Sometimes I wish he does! He has a blanket that he's identified as 'his' but he's not hugely attached to it as a comfort object. He likes playing with various stuffed toys but isn't attached to any in particular.

Probably my boobs if I'm honest, although he's not allowed now except bedtime and morning time so they're not exactly a comfort object he can drag around (I'm sure he would if he could!).

My Mum still has my 'bird'. Dirty pink blob of a stuffed toy. When we were travelling my parents had to turn around and go back an hour to a town where I'd left this damn bird in a restaurant (I was 2, I can't remember, sorry Mum and Dad!).

Our little one age two has a little comfort teddy. Well saying that he has about 8 comfort teddies, all the same :-) calls it mimi and wont go anywhere without it. Teddy has a long hat with a bauble at the end he keeps sucking and 4 little feet he that he uses to stroke himself on his face and ears lol We also have so many of them because as he sucks them they get dirty so we need to wash them all the time. He will wait at the washing machine and when its finished he opens the door and starts his rescue action :-) I thinks its nice if they can take to a little toy or blanket like that. Saying that, it can last a life time. My husband has a pillow that ke keeps twirling when watching tv and my cousin is over thirty and still has his blanket he had as a baby. Its a comfort thing :-) I think its nice as when I asked my mum she told me I never had anything like that :-(

my 2 year old daughter has a special blankie! she takes it everywhere! the worst part is, its really thick fleece one. but she loves it so much, so it doesn't bother me. i actually found a picture from my baby shower where i was holding up the blankie lol it was famous before she was born! its brown and pink with leopard print all around the edge. i am worried she is going to rip it badly. i know mine from when i was little went everywhere with me and its shredded. my son is 5 and he still has it, but rarely uses it, he likes to take it on vacation though thats about it.

my son is coming up for 6 and still has his blue blanket.
i bought this for his pram when i was pregnent and he has never let it go , when i wash it he sits at the michine crying untill its out and then sits at the tumble dryer till he can have it back.
i went back to the same shop and bought another 1 but he new the diffrance and gave me it back , he started school last year and started leaving it at home but as soon as he comes home he takes it straight away , im not bothered as he will depart from it when hes ready :)

My son will be 3 in August and has had the same blanket since birth which he calls his "Minni". Up until about a month ago, if he did not have it for nap or sleep time he would scream and yell until you got it for him. Even if I explained that it was in the wash , or left at school ect. He would just scream for hours. Finally, he is starting to loosing a bit of attachment to it. Last night we forgot it in the car and being 32 weeks pregnant, I was not going down and out to get it ( we live in an apartment ). I calmly explained to him that he didn't need it and that he had his new blanket on his bed he could use for the night and he was perfectly okay with that. It was so nice for a change.

Our son, who is 3.5 has three blankets that he must sleep with. He does not carry them with him but he has to have them to go to sleep. They are the blankets I've used since he was a baby.

Ya I agree with you Casey my daughter gets so much comfort from her blanket, and she as falls asleep instantly when its bedtime with her blanket. But she gets so mad when her 6 year old brother so much as touches her blanket she toddles right up to him and grabs it back and toddles away lol its so cute. I dont know when and if I should ever take it away from her though. My boys never had special blankets to sleep with or carry around, well my 6 year old carried cars with him and still does lol but thats it and my 16 year old never was attached to anything special.

My daughter (17 months) has a small blankie that has a little stuffed bunny attached at one corner. We actually have two, one at home and one at daycare. She can tell them apart as one is newer and has been washed less. She prefers the original, but if she can't see the original she will happily take the newer one. She always gets it at nap time and bed time. I let her have it if we go somewhere that there will be a lot of strangers or might be scary or overwhelming for her. I let her have it sometimes around the house (usually only if we go into her room bc it stays in bed when she gets up)but always make her put him down somewhere out of sight while she eats so it stays clean. I introduced it around 6 or 7 months I think... And she's become quite attached. I think it's great. It really helps her feel safe when we are in new environments and when I give it to her and say night night she just snuggles it, sucks her thumb and goes right to sleep. Well worth any hassle it creates as far as I'm concerned.

My son has 2 special "blankies" and he's 6. He had the first one since he was a baby my mother made it for him, well at about 4 1/2 it was tattered and torn and we finally convinced him to let my mom make him another one. He insisted that it was the same exact blanket/color, so she made but he couldn't bare to part with the first one so now he uses the old ratty one as a pillow and covers himself with the other one. However when he was 2 we stopped letting him bring it places with him unless it was someplace scary like the dentist.

My 2 year old daughter has lots of special things she needs to go to bed. She has a blankie, a doll, pb bunny, and another rabbit thing, so it gets a little cramped when she crawls into bed with us in the middle of the night!
