Hi. My little boy Ben sleeps from 8:30pm to about 6:30am. He also takes a 1 - 2 hour nap most days. Is he getting enough sleep?

Is 8:30 too late to put him to sleep?

Hello my name is Giovanna I have a 15 month old daughter and she's always been a good baby. I put her to bed at 8pm she wouldn't wake up till 12/1pm at first now she goes to bed at 8pm wakes up for a bottle at 4/6am goes back to bed and wakes up at 9/10pm I don't understand what changed. This past week has me concerned though she goes to bed at 8pm wakes ups at 9/10am goes to bed an hour later and I have to wake her up no later then 4pm. All she wants to do is sleep is this normal? She's been having occasional diarrhea but that's from switching from formula to regular milk. She shows no signs of being sick besides the diarrhea. Please help!

Ya know I've wondered about how much sleep my 14 month old needs! I have a 14 month old too and she sleeps from about 7:30pm to 7:00am. Plus she takes two, two hour naps. I think some kids just may need more sleep than others. Is your kid pretty active? Cause I know mine is always on the move and I think that's partly why she sleeps a lot. I've noticed too that because she goes to bed early she eventually slept in longer. You could try putting your child to sleep earlier it may cause him to sleep longer. Hope that helps you!

My little girl is 15 months and she goes to bed @7 or 7:30pm and typically wakes up at 6:30 or 7am with 2 naps anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours long apiece. I am the mother of 4 and I have always found that sleep is of HUGE importance in a childs life. It affects their mood and ability to learn- especially when they get to school. I find that Meredith is good for 3 to 4 hours before needing a nap which ends up being mid-morning and mid-afternoon for her. If I let her stay up too long then she either won't nap or has a really short restless nap. Hope this helps you decide how much sleep your 14 month old needs!

Yes!!! Sleep is so important! My daughter has had a bedtime of 7:30 pm since she was about 8 months old, and she has consistantly slept through until 6:30 or 7am since then. Now she is 2 and 4 months, and still takes a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon. When she is at preschool, and only gets a 45 minute nap, I notice the difference right away! I am convinced that the amount of sleep she has is directly related to her mood.

I think, if anything, you could put Ben in bed at 7:30 and you will find he still sleeps until 6:30am. Oh, and don't take away the nap! :) Hope this helps you figure out how much sleep your 14 month old needs!

hi my daughter is nearly two now and at about 14 months i started to cut her day time naps dwn half hour at a time, now she does not have a day time nap and goes dwn to bed at about 6.30 - 7.00 and gets up at 7.30-8.00 in the morning. before when she was napping in the day she wouldnt go down untill 8.30-9.00 so i think if you gradually stop the day time naps then by the time its bed time your little man will be tired from his busy day, when you reduce his naps by half hour then reduce his bed time by half hour untill you get him dwn to his preferred time. make sure he has a bed time hour where you both spend time together to wind dwn, my daughter starts with her bath then gets dressed, teeth and then story time and then bed make it fun and he will look forward to it, hope this makes sence and helps you figure out how much sleep your 14 month old needs lol and good luck

Hi good to hear all good sleeping habits of your cute ones. I have daughter who is 14 months old, she goes to bed at 12 / 1 am and wakes up at 6.30 /7.00 am in between waking up every 2 hours. I feed her some porridge as she refuses for solids, give her some amount of water n try o put her on bed. But she starts playing running around the house from 10 pm to 11.30 pm. She takes a nap during the day for about 2-3hours. Is this a good sleeping habit

hey my name is Lana my daughter is now almost 21 months .. when she was about 14 months she would only take 1 nap a day she would sleep 2-3 hours .... when it was time for bed i would give her a bath and a yogurt and maybe a bottle of milk... bed time was usually 9:00 and then she would wake up around 7 i would give her a 8oz bottle of milk and she would stay asleep till about 8-8:30 sometimes even 9... it all depends on the schedule you have your child it takes time but there is always a way to change ther e sleeping habits .. you have to have patience sometimes the sleeping habits change when a child gets sick as soon as they feel better you have to start to reprogram there sleeping habits it takes time but it works try to put the baby for a latter nap!!!

I must admit I am jealous! My daughter is now 13 months old and used to sleep really well, sometimes from 7pm to 8am with two hour naps in the day. For the past couple of months shes refusing to sleep although tired so in general goes to sleep any time between 7 and 8 depending though some mornings is awake at 5am! Some nights we dont seem to be able to settle her until 10pm!
They do say that the earlier they go to sleep the longer they sleep, though I dont know how true this is?
