How old is too old for my daughter to shower with me?

My 1-year-old seems to prefer a shower to a bath so I let her shower with me. How old is too old for her to be in the shower with me? At some point she will be too old to shower with me, but still too young to do it alone. I'm still perfectly comfortable with it, but I was just wanting opinions on it.

my 2 yr old son usually has a bath, but he has gone thru the shower phase and it started with me showering and him n daddy in the bathroom taking to me when he stripped off n jumped in with me after that he went in on his own but i was sitting at the door and got him to sit on the floor n be washed with the soap so he didnt fall over, he hasnt asked about my part but knows daddy has a "woodle" his word not ours just like him but im sure the question will arrise soon,
but if you and ur daughter feel comfortable showering together then why not?

I have sons they showered with me until around 5 or so years old. Not really a big deal unless you make it one. Be forewarned you will get asked a lot of crazy and funny questions. It is a good time to talk to them about privacy and what is and not acceptable. When they ask about body parts it's also a good time to talk to them about the body parts and using correct terminology. If you don't bug out they won't bug out. When they are ready to shower or bathe alone they will or when the time feels right.

What questions are too awkward? I can't think of anything... maybe I have no imagination? My son has asked me about body parts (well, pointed at me and said 'no penis?', so I said I had a vulva and vagina. Then he got on with playing in the water. Not awkward.

My main concern is when she is too old to shower with me, yet still too young to shower alone. But, I guess by the time it gets too awkward, she will be old enough to do it mostly on her own.

My daughter has been showering on her own since she was 3 she's now 5 Im still around while she does it in case she needs me i just sit in the bedroom. I think so long as you both feel comfy with the situation its ok to leave it as long as possible, like when the awkward questions start and she'll be to young to know the answer then thats when id stop the showering together.

When she tells you she does not want to shower with you anymore.

Agree with Amy, so long as you both feel comfortable. I'd say you've got awhile yet. My nearly 3 year old doesn't like showering with me, not because he's uncomfortable, he just likes to hog the water and tells me to 'get out'. Charming.

I think as long as you are both comfortable with it then it's not a problem. My kids hate the shower so they still take baths but I would be fine with them showering with me and they're 6 and 2.
