How to help a restless sleeper

I am a single, young mom. I still live at home with my own parents so my 2 year old son(27months) sleeps in my room, in my bed, every night. Lately for the past few weeks he hasn't been sleeping well and has been waking me up to sleep on my stomach over and over thru out the night. As much as i love to cuddle, 27 month old isn't exactly small to my 5'5 height.

I've tried a few things, making sure he falls asleep on a full stomach. Diapers clean, thirst quenched. I've noticed that, maybe the movie we watch before hand might be the cause so i've changed it up to a cuter, toddlerish cartoon, instead of "Mickey' and the Beanstalk". That Giant can be quite intimadating.

So anyway, i'm at a complete lost. Last night was my last patience. Crashed at 9, up at 2. up again at 3. Up for another time at 530. and so on. any suggestions?

Hang in there Momma! He won't always share a bed with you. Just try to enjoy it when you can, they grow fast! You could always try tylenol as well if you do feel he's in pain. Best wishes!

Well i'm for christmas I will have enough money to change his crib into a bed...he grew out of his crib months ago when he kept getting his arms or legs stick in between the bars. And bedtime always between 830 and 930. if were to hyper coming closer to 930 lights go off and we lay in the dark til he falls asleep. He's never slept anywhere other than with in my room, so sleep over haven't wrecked a routine.

I just hate being at a loss with this. Maybe it is growing pains. Heres to hoping.

My guess would be he's going through a growth spurt and maybe in a bit of pain. Lying on your stomach probably brings comfort. Have you asked him if he's in pain when he wakes? It's most likely a phase that will pass. Good luck!

Is there any way that he can sleep in his own room or maybe even in his own bed if that possible? Its always hard when your staying at someone else's house, maybe also change his bed time routine. We do it with our daughter of having dinner and a little play then bath, a snack if she wants one, then we brush teeth and have quiet time with reading stories before kisses and cuddles and into bed. Even though the movie is kid friendly it might be that little bit overstimulating at that time of night. What time do you put him to bed? It could help to move his bedtime up a little earlier as being overtired can cause restless sleep. Hope that helps a little
