When the doctors measure you, they are taking notice of yours and the baby's growth. They look for sudden change. I would trust your OB, and at the next appointment ask them what they think. If you don't trust your OB, I would change. It's never too late for that unless you're giving birth. If you were measuring too big, It could mean a couple of things like gestational diabetes, kidney problems with the baby, or a multiple. These are the reasons why the doctor measures and keeps a watch on the growth. I hope this helps. I have measured small with a couple of my kids and measured big with a couple. Not to worry.

Im a little concerned when you say your doctor doesn't notice, they should be measuring you at every visit. You should be measuring from your pubic bone to the top of your fundus, this is known as the fundus height, and it should be measuring within 1-2 inches of the # of weeks you are. So you should be 30-32 inches. If your not and you know your measuring right you need to bring it to your OB's attention. Since your 32 weeks you should be being seen once a week at this time. Baby could be small, or you could be a few weeks further behind then you calculated. I say measure again and talk to your doctor.

My dr had a talk with me about this subject not to long ago. He didnt measure me at every visit sometimes not even every other. He said his reason behind it was bc its not as accurate as some would like to think. In one days time i went to see my normal dr.. then had a lab with the nurse prac. my dr measured me at 32cm and the nurse prac. measured me at 36cm. all within about an hour apart. obviously both of them couldnt be right! He pulled out a tape measure and showed me how little 2cm actually is which isnt a big deal at all but it could make somone think they are 2 WEEKS ahead or behind their due date which is a big difference. Also keep in mind not all drs are going to measure from the exact same spot on your pubic bone which could change the results. I'm sure everything is fine but if it makes your more comfortable by all means talk with your dr.  Congrats and good luck :)

My sister had bad heartburn with her daughter born a week ago.  She only gained 9 pounds throughout her pregnancy - which freaked me out because I gained 44 pounds.  She had a healthy baby girl born 6 pounds 2 oz - so you may be just fine.  I remembering worrying like crazy when I was pregnant - as long as you are feeling movement and the doctor isn't concerned, I'm betting you'll be fine!

I agree with the other Mums, I would mention it to your doctor, you never know these days, everyone carries differently. I had my baby 14wks early & I was measuring 32inches at 25 wks!!

I am 38 weeks and I also measured a little small, i had an US and the baby measures 7lb. I just carry my babies well, my last baby measured small and was born 8lb 7oz. I didn't start weekly visits until I was 36 weeks. bring your concern to your OB's attention be proactive. Good luck

If your doctor isn't concerned then I wouldn't worry too much. You might just be carrying it very well. I measured small with all of my babies. I am 5 foot nothing and weigh 100 lbs, so everyone assumed I would be huge :) My babies were all between 5 and 6 pounds and perfectly healthy just on the smaller side. If you have concerns ask your doctor that is what he is there for!

I say to check up with your doc. Make sure that he's aware of the difference. Maybe they can do a US to check on baby.

i was like that with both my children, 1st was born 6'4, 2nd was 5'10 and were both healthy just very small!

There are factors that come into it like ;whether u smoke or are around smokers alot, you may not be eating enough etc etc.... or maybe like me its not a problem you just carry it well and are one of the lucky ones!

hope all goes well 4 you!
