My son will be 3 in 3 months. the day care told me NOT to use pull ups, just underwear, even at night! what happens if he has an accident on teh sofa? it seems crazy to me not to use pull ups, but I was told it will delay the process. Any tips??? ideas????

my daughter is completely day trained and we still use pull ups at night, she still is not dry in the morning. My son was still wetting the bed at 6 so we used to put on a pull up before bed so that he wouldn't accidently wet his bed.

What??? I mean I can see doing3this during the day, but at night? No way! My daughter is 3 years and 3 months and she is kind of toilet trained. I wouldn't dream of not putting a diaper or pull-ups on her at night! Go with YOUR gut. He is your son. You know him better than anyone else. Their suggestion is ridiculous.
Is he ready? Does he go when prompted? If so take away the diapers during the day. That's what I finally did with my daughter. She wasn't confidant enough and actually WANTED to wear diapers. I told her she was done and she was going to wear big girl panties. She's had a bunch of accidents but I'm not at all surprised. She hasn't had any poop accidents YET, knock on wood.
It won't delay the process! *eye roll*
He will be ready on his own time. NEVER force a child to train. It back fires on you in the end. I know from experience with my oldest. Put him in a diaper or pull-ups at night for sure. If he's not using the bathroom regularly then leave him in pull-ups for now.
