Im having naptime and bedtime problems with my 19month old any suggestions?

My daughter is 19 months old and has always had a great naptime and bedtime schedule like clock work. The past couple of weeks she no longer wants to be in her crib and screams and cries to get out. She has been in her crib carrying on crying for 10mins so far. Im trying to let her cry it out but I have to admit im not used to this and have been starting to give in and let her sleep in bed with my husband and i. Which of course i know is unhealthy habit to start. I have tried taking the side rail off her crib to make her feel more like a big girl bed. As she does have her 6 yr old sister she shares a room with. No luck she gets more angry. Im trying to be firm but i really could use some help. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! thank you!

Does she have a lovey, like a blanket or stuffed animal to use for comfort? My kids have a blanket and it really works when they get upset in bed. I also give them a sippy cup half filled with water at night (no juice or milk, can possibly cause cavities). Maybe a small nightlight would help as well in the hallway? Just a few ideas. My kids are 2 and 3 and sleep pretty good still. Sometimes my 3 yr old son will not want to sleep if he thinks he is missing out on something. We turn the TV down and turn as many lights off as we can to make him think everyone is going to bed (MOM and DAD). He also likes to take a few toys to bed to play with before he falls asleep. Whew, that was an earful, sorry! Good luck to you!
