what are some good questions to ask when searching for a new pediatric care location? questions for the general practice, but also for specific doctors?

If you see this, leave this form field blank.

What are their hours?
who sees your child when they aren't avaliable?
What are their beliefs in regards to homeopathic treatments? (you want to make sure their beliefs mesh with your own! whatever they may be!)
What network of specialists are they affiliated with (you never want to think of your child needing to see a specialist.. but now is the time to ask)
If your child is admitted to the hospital, will they come visit and confer on the case?
Do they make home visits (some doctors still do!)
What are their feelings on vaccines, or alternative vaccination schedules (once again, you just need to make sure that their views mimic your own! or at the least, they will respect yours!)
How do they approach children?

Last time I moved I wound up with getting in to see my nephew's pediatrician. He was good. Then we moved again, and he reccomended someone in a practice nearby our new home. AND I LOVE THIS PERSON!! our "new" pediatrician, we have been with him almost two years. He is AMAZING, and the best part of it, is that my son likes him. My son generally doesn't like doctors. but something about this guy, the way he approaches my son, the funny bird noises he makes while looking in his ears, my son adores this man. anyway. good luck! If you are in the SF East Bay message me and I will tell you my docotor's name.
