Thanks everyone for your help. I did some more researcha nd the Britax frontier is for 2 yrs old and older. I went to BRB yesterday and put my daughter in the Britax line as well as Safety 1st car seats. I decided to go with the Britax Advocate as she look to be really comfortable and the 5 pt harness seems to grow with her the longest. I have not installed it in my car yet, but I will let you ladies know how it works out. Melissa I am not sure what the difference is with the Boulvard and the Advocate, but the look similar. Thanks again for your advise!

Not sure about Frontier but we got the britax Boulevard when my twins turned 1 and we all love it. It is super cushy comfy for them and it has wings on either side of their heads tto reduce any injuries from side impact crashes.

You cannot rear face the Frontier. It is forward facing only from 25-100 pounds. 25-80 pounds in the 5 point restraint, and then 80 pounds to 100 pounds with the car restraint (seat belt). It is only the Marathon, Roundabout, and Boulevard seats that can rear face also. But honestly, at one year, he should still be rear facing. If you go online and Google "Kyle Miller Foundation", you can learn alot about car seat safety and get good reccommendations from them on what seat is right for your son.

The thing is, is that the Frontier is a HUGE car seat! I owned it, and the Regent. I also had 2 Marathon's. The Frontier is not good if you have a small build child. There is too much "wiggle" room in the hip area. If you are a big fanatic of car seat safety like I am, you can check out the new reccommendations about children being rear facing as long as possible. The Marathon rear faces for up to 30 pounds I believe. They reccommend they rear face for as long as they possibly can in their car seat. If the seat however says 5-20 pounds rear facing, by all means use it to 20 pounds rear facing. But there are several car seats that go up to 65 pounds on the market, and those are usually up to 30-35 pounds rear facing. All that said, no, I don't think the Frontier is a good seat for a one year old. Go with the Marathon, it goes to 65 pounds, 30 pounds rear facing. 65 pounds with any child is a long time, at least till they are 4 or 5. Then you can buy an inexpensive booster seat at that time. Graco makes the MyRide65 also, it goes to 40 pounds rear facing, and 65 pounds forward facing and is a fraction of the cost of a Marathon, but they are very nice. I think they are around $150, as opposed to the Marathon that is around $260. But, I would not buy the frontier, they just didnt seem safe for a smaller child and they take up ALOT of room in the car!
