my daughter loves it. she tries to teach her brother, but they end up in a bit of a fight. she tries to position his little hands and he just kinda squeals at her like "hey, those hands are mine!" he's 11 months old and signs a few basics to us. we love signing with our daughter and it's funny to watch her get frustrated that she just wants to talk with him in sign and he doesn't get it yet. we just sign daily and he is picking up on it. i tried to explain to my daughter that just like walking, talking and signing just takes a bit of time. it's testing her patience levels, let me tell ya!

why not? it's a daily communcation so it does help if they see the siblings do it. I LOVE baby signs. I see your picture. THough my son doesn't have any siblings yet we did it. It's great. My nieces did it and my oldest nice helped with the younger one. It's a tool so I would let them if they can do the signs let them use it but please remember to have them say the words if they can when they sign them.

We taught our 3 year old daughter sign language when she was about 6 months old. She has been helping us with our 23 month old and his signing skills. We will always use sign language because I have a brother who is deaf and they love talking with Uncle "Bop" Rob with their sign language. I hope they keep it up and have a good relationship with him as they get older!

my 10 year old and 8 year old help with signing with my 19 month old and my 3 year old... i think its great older siblings help teach the younger ones...it can only help the baby pick up signing faster to see signs everywhere they can in my opinion...

i started teaching my daughter simple sign when she was 6 months old. i found it to be incredably helpful. first one to learn was "milk". did the "book" sign whenever we were going to read. "more" and "done" once solids were introduced. "dog" she figured out on her own. she knows "mom, dad, baby, water, thank you, cat and dinosaur" sesame street taught her how to "sing" Happy Birthday too. she is 2 1/2 now. doesnt use it much anymore since her language skills are blossoming. but on occasion, when she thinks i dont hear her ask for "milk", she will get in my face and sign it with a smile. im glad i taught her and if we have another one, they will learn it as well
