One year old not eating.

My 14 month old is the same way. For about a week or so he has not eaten anything but small stuff like crackers and small portions of food. This just happened all of a sudden he used to eat everything. I was worried but when he gets hungry enough he will eat a good amount of food I'm guessing this will pass soon. He had teeth coming in but not a whole lot so that may be what's going on too

ah, I remember this period. My little guy is 2.5 years old and still has those moments. Some days he eats like a mouse nd then again it feels like I am feeding a teenager, it doesn't stop. If they don't feel good or they are teething they usually won't eat much or at all. Try small amounts and soft food, soup, yogurt. Good luck!!

Hi,

My daughter goes a couple of days without eatting very much and then she will eat again what I class as a normal amount. She is teething at the moment and has molars sprouting everywhere! She goes to bed and wakes up with two extra teeth it is such a shock! So try soft foods like banana or rice pudding and if his gums are sore this will not aggrivate them. When my daughter is constantly chewing and dribbling I let her have sugar free ice cream which cools her gums and gives her a rest bite from hot sore gums. But above all your baby will eat when he is ready. Hope this helps with your 1 year old not eating.

my daugher is 13 months and is a very picky eater, she will only eat certain things and says no to all other things. best thing to do with your 1 year old not eating is wait until your child is really hungry then they will be intersted in food and what not, thats what doc told me and sometimes kids will eat more one day then like nothing the next. or binge eat and be stuck to only wanting one thing which my daughter did, all she wanted to yogurt'

The reason your 1 year old is not eating is probably teething. My son totally went off food for months around that age - turned out he had 6 teeth coming through all at once. He is almost 16 months now and has only just got his appetite for solids back in the last couple of weeks. I also agree with Jenna - they love eating off their parents plates. You can also give him finger foods instead of the mushy stuff. I wouldn't worry about it too much if he seems otherwise well - babies just go through weird phases like this.

my son is almost 9 months n he to as started not wanting his own food. i found the reason 4 that was because he now understand that his food looks diffrent than ours, ive started givin him small amounts of my plate to show him that it the same and thats seems to be working, he also has his own spoon which is messy but fun as he wants to try feeding himself. but all kids do go of there food at tyms as they are still developing tastes. im sure he will b bk on food befor u knw it :)
