Parenting books

Why is it that most parenting books are written by men? Most (not all of course) mothers are the ones who are with the children the majority of the time and there for are the ones who have to deal with the majority of the discipline and training. I just think it is odd. Anyway, does anyone know of a good parenting book written by a mother?

That is curious. Maybe its because dads are more likely to read them? I only know some stuff from parenting books because my husband tells me about it after he reads them :) Some of it is still very good.
