Hi there. It took about 3 weeks to toilet train my 2yr old.Although she does go to daycare, which has been a big help. She was watching the other kids using the toilet, and she picked it up straight.Normally ask the child if she/he needs to go to the toilet every 15 minutes.Once you start you have to follow it through.Hopefully that will help. And if the child still dosent want to go then there not ready, they will go when their ready.Dont make it a big issue with them,as sometimes it can have a reverse affect on them, and then they will refuse to go.You have to make it fun for them. When they do go eventually clap hands, tell them how proud you are of them, and make a big fuss with them.Good Luck l hope that helps.

My two year old is fully potty trained. We bought him the fanciest potty chair we could find and gave it to him for Christmas from "SANTA". We made big deal about Santa bringing him a big boy potty. We even bought a little rug to put it on and his own wipes so that it was his own space. The potty chair has sensors so it greets him when he sits down, and if he goes it tells him good job and sings to him. In one week he was peeing on the potty full time, and three weeks he was fully potty trained. We also took him to pick out his own underwear, whatever kind he wanted. NO DIAPERS OR PULL-UPS!!! They are a major hinderance. Maybe the Easter Bunny could bring your little one a new potty or some undies in their Easter basket??? Good luck!!!

I am going through the same thing. I love this site: www.whattoexpect.com
It is from the author of What to Expect when you're Expecting. Look up potty triaing, and it will tell you sings he/she is ready and what to do and good ideas.
For me and my son, I got him a potty that he picked out and decorated with stickers. I take him to his potty when he wakes up in the morning and after nap time, and after he eats and drinks. He still goes in his diaper in between sometimes but goes everytime I take him to go on his potty.
Hope this helps! Keep in mind you child is different than anyone elses so so what works for some might not work for others. You kinda need to find a good balance for you and you little sweetheart!
