Pre-school and School - Kids not telling you what they did all day?

Do you find that when you ask, "What did you do today"? that you get no info from your child/children.

I ask what his teacher did ? what the other kids did ? then I ask did you also enjoy that ... then he start to tell me more about his day... he will not tell if I just ask how was your day.

I get "nothing"

But I also get a weekly e-blast from my pre-K teacher so I know what to specifically ask about each day. Asking better questions = getting a better response. (works on adults too.)
