Qualities of a Good Preschool

A lot of times a good preschool will let you observe a class. Some preschools are more 'educational' based learning. Others are learning through play. How friendly is the staff? Figure out what type of preschool you want, meaning church based or secular or ?
How comfortable are you with the instructors? How do they do discipline? When it's raining do they have a place for the children to play so they won't get wet? How involved are the children in the activities? For example do they take turns doing the weather, front of the line, passing out snacks, cleaning up, etc ?
Also, do you want the preschool to provide snacks, you to provide your own child's snack, or each parent takes turns bringing snacks for everyone? How are they about background checks? Will they let you volunteer, help with holiday activities, let you come to the activities, etc? Do they go on field trips? How often do you want your child to go and for how long? What is the price? Do they check people out who pick up your child when you don't? How is the security for the building and outside play area?
These aren't all the questions, but hopefully a good start.

You need to look at the surroundings is the building well maintained and clean. Look at the children that attend are they happy and well cared for. Look at the staff and watch how they interact with the children are they kind and happy. Look at the kitchens and the menus offered and the sleeping arrangements. Lots to look at i know but you want to get it right. Happy smiley faces is a must have!
