I'm a SAHM with 2 beautiful, smart kids. My daughter is 3 1/2 and my son is 1 1/2. My daughter is the MOST TALKATIVE kid EVER!! She always has a story to tell, or a song to sing, or a question to ask. She is talking from, no kidding, the minute she wakes up until the second she goes to bed. And even then she talks herself to sleep. It is constant, non stop all day long. The only time she is quiet is during naptime (for about 1-2 hrs.) and even then I have to listen to her upstairs talk and talk and talk until she falls asleep (could take an hour). How do I keep myself from going totally crazy???? I love her soooooooooooooooo much and she is sooooooooooo sweet. She never says anything bad (not usually anyway) but NOTHING makes her quiet. She watches TV and talks about the show she's watching, she talks along with the commercials. Coloring or artwork is even a vocal event. I can't talk on the phone (not even for a min.) I can't do housework without her following me around and asking questions or telling me a story. Holy Man, She's never quiet. By the end of the day, I'm mentally exhausted. Every comment, question, funny story or anecdote requires a response, answer, or equally funny story or anecdote. My brain is just tired. Sorry so lenghty. Mostly just venting, but does anyone else have a child like mine???

My daughter also is so talkative.she is six years old.i thought that she will be normal when she is five or more, but she is still so talkative and always ask questions.i know that this kind of children will be so intelligent if we answer all their questions in the right way, but the problem is that i can't control myself . when she starts to talk and ask questions for a long time i get sooooo nervous... i don't know what to do. i love her so much and i don't like to shout at her ,but at the end of the day i get so tired and i can't control my mood....

she seems like such a little sweetheart!! talkative kids yes i have one but he is only 2!! he will be quiet to watch some shows on Nick jr but other than that he is talking just about all day, and he does the same as your daughter and will talk forever in his room before he goes to sleep, nap and bedtime. but i love it, i just try to block him out, i know sometimes it's hard because if i ignore him then he gets louder LOL. just enjoy it because someday (teen years) she may not talk at all!! good luck and have fun!!

I do!! My daughter is the same way...I ask her to play the quiet game & she laughes at me...She is like yours constantly talking, asking questions & if I dont answer fast enough she asks again or asks louder...just in case I cant hear her. Even when shes crying shes talking about something. I really do feel your pain...I have a 1 year old as well so for me going to work & working for 8 hours & then being in the car alone before I pick the girls up is my ME time. Its great...Its peaceful & most of all its quiet...sometimes I cant even stand to have the radio playing....I dont know what to do either. Like yours if shes not talking shes singing....or humming to a song...I am glad that I am not the only out there with a VERY energtic almost 4 yo.
