Hi All...so I am about to switch from an infant car seat to a toddler car seat. I bought the Britax Marathon. I noticed that when I was installing the car seat the back of the car seat is not flush with the seat, but the base of the car seat is level and stable. I am unable to push the car seat all the against the back seat because of the headrests which are not removeable. Can you believe that?!?!?!? Anyway, I just wanted to see what you all thought. Do you think it is okay that the back of the car seat is not fluch with the back seat. Thoughts???? Thanks!!!!

If your vehicle is like my Jeep Liberty I just had to raise the headrests all the way up and then my Marathon fit against the seat much better. We have narrower seats then most cars. Good Luck and excellent choice in carseats!

Most Law Enforcement agencies do carseat safetly checks for free as well. My sister-in-law's brother works for the Highway Patrol and they hooked everything in snuggly and showed them how to do it so they could do it when they needed to move the car seat to another car. They also gave them easier straps to get it more secure in the car. Just call one of the agencies and they will be able to send you in the right direction.

Hi Allison...she's turning a year old on Saturday and she weighs 23 pounds.  Maybe I wil give it a try rear facing.  Thanks for the input!

Babies R Us has free car seat inspections. Call and check if they do it near you so you can have it checked out.
