My son is 3 and I still consider him a toddler, but I was talking to a friend of mine who has a daughter a day younger than my son and she doesn't consider her daughter to be a toddler... so I was wondering what age/ages do you consider "toddlerhood". I consider toddlerhood to be from 18months(walking)-kindergarten.

I had no idea there was so much discrepancy in opinion. Newborn is 0-3 months. Infant is 3-24months. Toddler is 2 until 4. 4-5 is preschooler. At 8-12 they become a tween. Teen is 13-18. Young adult is 18-29. 30-65 is middle age. 65+ is a senior. (Sure, plenty of people will try and argue middle age isn't til 40, but but by that logic, if you are "young" til 39, then you are "old" at 41, which is obviously not the case. Ergo, middle age must be a larger middle portion beginning at 30) And now you can label his whole life. Your welcome.

12mo's till they turn 3. As soon as they are 3 they are preschoolers and no longer toddlers.

In a Preschool or Daycare setting a toddler is between 15 months and 2 yrs 9 months old. After that they are preschoolers.

toddlers are from a yr old to 4 yrs old in my opnion, 4-5 is preschool and 5 to 9 is school aged then pre teen then teen and so on

Toddlers are 3 years of age and under. To me, even my 4 year old son is still a toddler. 4 and up is considered a boy or child. Toddlerhood is from the time they start walking (9 to 12 months, usually, until they are 4.)

I dunno...I have a 23mth old and I felt funny calling him a toddler when he was 12mths, even though he was wallking at 9mths...I think I started around 16-18mths and will probably stop around 3ish...not that I usually mention him as a toddler, more just his age.

i used to work in daycare so i consider infant/toddler/preschoolers based on the age groups daycares use - infants are birth - 18 months , toddlers are 18m-3years , preschoolers are 3-5y

Infant is birth to 12 months (can be up to 18 months if not walking yet).
Toddler is 12 months (or walking... if after 12 months) til their 3rd bday.
Preschooler is 3 and 4.. or til they start K.
Approximately, of course. All of my kids were walkers by one and none of my kids were still 'toddlers' at 3.

I dunno, I never really thought of it. My son is almost 4 and in my mind I still consider him a toddler. Maybe when he stops wearing toddler clothing sizes he's no longer a toddler???? LOL
