if they are trying to get climb out o their crib, or they have successfully done so. my daughter will be getting a big girl bed on her second birthday (4 months away) because we will be pregnant (we hope) and no time like the present to give it a shot. she loves sleeping in my bed and get out no problem and back into it. good luck!

i put my son(21.5mths) in a "big boy bed" when we moved house. Some how in the move his cot got broken and we couldnt afford to buy a new one but we did have his "big boy bed" ready to go. so the night be fore we moved he was in his cot and the next night once we had moved he was in a "big boy bed", to stop him from falling out of bed and hurting himself on the wooden floors i have put the cot matruss on the floor i also put one of his really big toy tigers next to him and tucked bout my son and the toy in kinda tight. my son hasnt fallen out of bed yet

My daughter is a very active sleeper, too, but she has never fallen out of her toddler bed. It has some short rails on both sides, near the top. I have seen rail guards sold that are full-length, but I've also heard a few stories of kids getting stuck between them and the mattress. You could start by just putting the mattress on the floor, so he gets used to sleeping in a bed without rails, and go from there.

My son can definatly climb into his crib if i put the side down. im worried bout him rolling around though. he is a very restless sleeper and still wakes up periodically. ive seen rail guards for beds. are there any that are full length?

We left our daughter in her crib until she was about 2.5. She never showed signs of wanting to climb out, although I believe that is a major sign. She was just independent, sleeping well, and we believed she would stay in her bed once we put her down. She has been great with it.
