now i don't have biracial hair (which is a shame...i could really use some body lol) but i use a fanstastic shampoo and conditioner by Eqyss (it's actually for horses, but safe for humans, its ph balanced, petrolium free and all sorts of good stuff lol) i use the premier shampoo, and the conditioner i use is very pricey (but TOTALLY worth it, you don't need alot at all) and it is called mega tek rebuilder. they do have another "normal" conditioner that;s better priced, and it is also very good, but i prefer the mega-tek. you can even rub it into your nails to help them grow, it is awesome stuff! i abuse my hair soo badly (i have hair colour a.d.d. haha), but i am constantly getting complements telling me how shiney my hair looks and how healthy and long it is :) and it smells wonderful. i use it on my son too. here's the link

hope you find something that works!

Try the brand "Cantu" which can be found in Walmart. There is 2 products that I use on my biracial hair and I have been very happy with the results, plus they are leave in conditioners.

You might also try the Tresseme products for curly hair that have BI added. I have found that if you regularly condition the scalp with a light moisturizing oil and then use a light hairdressing product you can get the hair in good shape. I would also caution you against washing their hair everyday. I use a spray bottle just to keep it moist while I am braiding or twisting it. The products sold by Carol's Daughter are also very good.

I am a hair stylist that has worked with biracial hair before. From my experience there is a line called All Soft from Redken you can get in salons. It is great for coarse hair. It is more consentrated than over the counter products so you do not need a lot. Also there is a sllyling product called quick slip by paul mitchell that helps with frizziness and detangling. We use it in the hair before we cut it to help tame and get threw it. I know it is a little more expensive but it works with out adding build up. Good luck hope I helped a little.

Oh thank you so much! My husbands mother told me to use vasoline, but I heard that was really bad for her hair. I am going to try this. Thank you!

If you can't tell by my picture, both my girls are biracial. Since my youngest one isn't old enough for me to do anything. On my oldest daughter I use: Olive Oil Detangler by sof n' free n' pretty, I got it at Wal-Mart with all the hair products. I happen to ask someone who was biracial for their help. I love this stuff and it really works, when I do her hair she doesn't cry from it hurting her. It also helps keep in from drying. And the plus side it is cheap. If you have a boy, my friend used it for her boy, she just used less so it didn't look to shiny for a boy.. Good luck and hope you find this helpful.
