Hello Everyone!!!  My husband and I adopted our first child in October of 08.  She is amazing!!!  We were at the hospital for her birth and spent the night with her there before taking her home at 1 day old.  I am also adopted (Korea) and my husband is African American.  Our little girl is African American and Caucasian.  We worked with a private agency in Michigan and we should finalize after our next supervision in March!

Hi I am Courtney, my husband Erick and I were at the hospital nursery when our daughter was born,  Danielle is 17 months and we don't remember life without her.  She is biracial AA/Causian.  She is wonderful and we hope to adopt again next year.

Hi, all--

I'm Jenn; my husband, Todd, and I have adopted three kids (so far). Trevor is 5, biracial Caucasian/African American; Sophia is 4, African American; Eryk is 2, African American. They are all fabulous kids, and we are enjoying our journey. I've been praying for a little girl to join our family and am hopeful.

Hi, my name is Hannah. I have one adopted daughter, Kadyn Star. We adopted her at birth through an agency in WI. Kadyn is bi-racial. Her birthfather is African American. Hi, I'm Susan - My husband Q and I (caucasian) have 2 sons: Mackie is 3.5, African American, adopted at 2 days old; and Will, 8.5 weeks, Hispanic, came home at the beginning of December. Both are domestic adoptions, something we feel very strongly about. We live between Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC. We LOVE our agency - lots of programs for parents and kids in transracial situations, throughout life.

I'm Katie & my husband is Jeff. We have 2 adopted children - Jackson almost 2.5 is african american/caucasion, adopted at birth and Jade - 15 months is full chinese, adopted from China at exactly 1 year old. I am so glad to have found this forum. There is a lot on Chinese adoptions, but it has been difficult to find a forum for questions regarding our son. Oh, by the way, both our kids are amazing!!!

Hi, I'm Emily, and my husband is Scott. We've adopted two (so far): Miles (age 2) and Eleanor (age 6 mos). Both are African-American - not biologically related to each other - and both adopted within a month of birth. So far, a wonderful journey!

Hi. I am new to the group,but I think it's wonderful. I'm Le-An and my husband is Shaw. We have three children that were adopted. All boys, ages 6,8,10. Christopher and Dalton are Caucasian. Landon's birth mother is Sioux Indian and his birth father is African American/Caucasian. Dalton and Landon were adopted at birth and we have an open adoption with their birth families. Christopher was seven at the time of the adoption and he was in the foster care system. We are in Nashville, TN. I was also adopted at birth. I found my birth family at age 26 and now enjoy a beautiful relationship with them as well.

hey mums! great to see this group! i'm lesley.. hubby and i are proud parents to 15 month old wilson, adopted when he was 2 days old. we met his birthmum at the hospital but she isn't ready to have contact with us yet... we're hoping she will in the future. wilson is the most amazing little dude! we're caucasian and his background is v. mixed (black, caucasian, and possibly more) but he has a fab 'fro-hawk', just like one of the previous posters! look forward to sharing ideas and experiences!

Hi,I'm glad to see this group! I'm Heidi and my husband Greg and I have 6 children. 3 bio. And 3 adopted as babies. We love the diversity of our family and celebrate the ethnic heritage of each. Our 12 year old son Isaac who is biracial (bl,w) loves that he is African American and Irish! Our daughter Haley (9) is full African American, and our son Caden (3) is African American, Caucasian (German), and Jamaican. Our oldest 3 are Caucasian (German).

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad! I am Charity & my husband is Jason. We have adopted 3 kiddos. Kaleigh will be 11 in March & is AfricanAmerican/Causcasian, Kolton just turned 6 & is AfricanAmerican/Caucasian and Karson is 10 1/2 months & is full AfricanAmerican. Thought we'd be okay with his hair since he is a boy, but he has a little FroHawk going on don't know if we should try cutting it since he is still so young. We live in Kansas.
