I have tried the cheerios/fruit loops in the toilet, turning them around on the toliet and putting their cars on the tank of the toliet. They still refuse to go...Any advice would be appreciated

I have stopped...They are just now telling me after they have went..Our pediatrician said to just wait till they are ready and show an interest in it..She told me they should start around 3, and if they werent potty trained by 3.5 we would look into things...

We've been getting pressure from a developmental therapist and family members to start potty training my two year old BBB triplets. Our pediatrician said to wait until after their adjusted age was 2.5 - she says they are not physiologically mature enough to tell when they are getting ready to go until after 2.5. I'd be interested in your perspective.

You also may want to just stick with the sitting till they get the hang of going first!!

I started potty training my little ones at 18 months just to get them use to the potty and whole idea. They didnt realy start showing intrest till about 2 1/2. My one daughter Sara just started going on her own and wow how nice that was. Toby and Tessa were a different story. They would tell me after they already went. It tried the puttig them in underware but that just made a lot of messes to clean up after. My mom was my biggest help. She would take one and focus on that one. She sat in the BR for almost an hr before they would go. I cant do that chasin all three. So your best bet may be get one going while maybe if you can have some one watch the other two for a night or too and when he does the other two may follow. The standing up came about 2 months later for Toby. He loves being a big boy like daddy. His help was the urinals at the pre school. I think he was afraid of falling in the toilet. As was Tessa. The noise of the toilet flushing scared Tess as well. So we made a game of it. It worked.

I have 2 girls and a boy triplets. If it's becoming a fight you might need to back off and start all over again. The boy was the first to potty train at 2 and 1/2. We got lot's of books from the library about going to the bathroom in the potty, watched some silly videos on kids going potty and started talking a lot about how mom and dad don't wear diapers, bought some great underwear (spiderman, batman) whatever they are into. Told them how when they started going to the potty they would get to wear that too. We got little potties and put them all around the house. Once they were all pumped up it was easy to get them interested but there was still the actual training them to go which will take me forever to write but I think the book we wrote was Potty training in one day (or something like that). So we picked a day and got going. Hope this was helpful I would be happy to expand more, just let me know which part you are struggling with.

Are they having trouble aiming into the toilet or they won't even go on the potty at all?
