looking for advice on solid foods...

I have 8mo. triplet girls. They're past cereal & now into the #1 veggies/fruit. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right but I started with just 1 jar between the 3 of them and have recently increased to 2. It's been almost 2 months since starting solids. Can't help but think they should be eating 1 jar to themselves...or more?! And should I give each one a veggie followed with a fruit? They don't get fussy like they want more, however I'm sure they'd eat more food if it was offered. They're also still taking 4 bottles/day so curious when I'm supposed to take a bottle away? I read by about 9 months they'll be eating solids 3 times/day so I just seem kind of lost when it comes to the 'transition' stages. (how much/when/how long) Any advice would be greatly appreciated:)

The food thing seems to be the only issue I've been kind of lost with, but I'm just going with the flow! I've found there's no exact way to do anything really, so if they're happy with what I'm doing now, I'm doing something right lol:) They have all just started crawling yes...and the craziness is beginning lol:) It's great though! Keeps me on my toes for sure! Couldn't imagine not having 3 around...3 times all the drooly kisses, giggles & toothy smiles! Love it!

I have GGG triplets also, they are 10 months old. I also had the hardest time and spent so much time researching the food issue. I am glad to see you figured it out. I still never know if I am feeding enough or not enough I just give them what they will eat. I did make all my own food for awhile but honestly it wasn't affordable for long. Have yours started crawling yet?? All 3 of mine are now crawlers and into everything. I love it when I get home from work and they mob me at the door all 3 of them. They also give kisses and the best hugs ever. I hope you are having as much fun and craziness as I am!

Yeah, you can give them actual fruits and veggies. They're actually probably better because they don't contain all that water. You can steam them till they are pretty well done and mash and put in ice cube trays in the freezer. when they are frozen, store in plastic bags and bring them out of the freezer and thaw when needed.

I've been researching this for a couple wks now, so I feel a lot more comfortable with it, thank goodness:) I'm on the last week of #1 foods, so once those are gone I'll be starting them on the #2's and probably meat. I didn't realize I could be giving them actual fruit & veggies too...as long as they're soft/mashed. It's so confusing at first lol! I'll definitely be asking their doctor when we go see her in a few weeks too. Thank you for your advice:)

I don't think you're doing anything wrong, but if you want to go ahead and offer fruit at the end, I don't see what it would hurt. Just mix and match what you're giving. Has your doctor said they'd be ready to start meats yet? I can't remember what we did with my 3 year old. . Now I'm just into the cerial stage with my 5 month old boys. It's like starting all over again. well...gotta go. duty calls.
