My triples are 2 1/2 now and atleast one of them is really ready for the potty. I have no idea how to do this! I've been given a few suggestions and I really don't know which one is right. I've tried the M&M's....didn't work. I tried to just go with the underwear with my daughter and that didn't go very well either. Any suggestions would be great!

I have GGB triplets and When I potty trained them one at a time. I started with the girl that was ready and I let her go around the house in under and kept the potty in the family room/play room so she could sit on it whenever she wanted. We also kept a potty chart that she got to put stickers on whenever she used the potty and when she got to a certain amount of stickers she got to pick a prize. I kept a box of stuff from the dollar store she could pick from. Then the second girl was next and the boy last. It worked out well. Hope this helps you!

I have bbg triplets and they were 3 before they would even think about the potty. Once they were ready then it was on and I never had any problem with it. I guess they just have to in their time. I had 3 potty's lined up my bathroom floor and all went at the same time when they did start.

bare bums to start with, thats what i did with my 3 singletons and my trips, and you need to stay at home when you begin, for at least a week, then when trained you can go out and about. boys train same as girls, old wives tale imo. Trained all of mine at 2yrs, boys and girls. Good luck with it.

I have no experience with boys but I can tell you it's all about the individual kid. My best friends son (who is 2w younger than my trio) was PT'd at 18mo. For me, DD#3 showed interest around 2yrs & by 2yrs 2mo could go all week w/o an accident -HOWEVER- her sisters had no interest at all. DD#3 would go weeks without an accident & then give up & have multiple accidents a day. She seemed to not want to miss any playtime with her sisters. Around 2yrs 9mo DD#2 became interest in PTing & that basically ended the accidnets for DD#3. At 3yrs DD#1 finally started on the potty & at that point I put an end to "baby" diapers & declared pull-ups (practice panties to us) for nights only.

We had a few accidents sure, but once someone gained some ground with the potty I would stop with diapers/pullups & use big girl panties- if they had multiple accidents in a short time (like 3 before snacktime) then they'd be moved to pullups for the rest of the day. They did NOT like that & would try their hardest to avoid them. We used little treats (M&M's, Skittles, etc) as well as excitement & encouragement with an ultimate goal of getting their ears pierced when they became "big girls" (this is something my mom did with me & my sisters did with her girls, plus the girls had been talking about earrings since they were about 18mo). By 3yrs 2mo DD#2 & #3 were fully potty trained both days & nights, DD#1 still has night issues, but I figure I got lucky with 2 who needed no help in that department. We waited until 3yrs 6mo before getting their ears peirced just to make sure everything stuck ;)

My trippies are all potty trained. We let them run around naked this summer for awhile because for some reason they seemed to realize the urge to go potty better if they were naked. The backyard is really private so it didn't matter to their parents or to me.

We also did the M&Ms. When one of the kids actually went on the potty, not just sat they'd get 1 M&M and if they pooped they'd get 2 M&Ms. worked like a charm.

I've potty trained many children and different things work for different kids so you have to experiment a little and find what works best for your child. However the one thing I have found consistant amonst all the kids I have potty trained is that pull-ups only hinder the process. Pull ups at naptime and bedtime or very long car rides is fine but regular underpants are better otherwise. You do a lot of laundry and clean up a lot of accidnrts but it goes quickly usually. The other thing that helps is having the kids help clean up after an accident. Make sure they know accidents happen and it's OK but do help them clean it up.

I have all boy triplets and one was ready before the other two so I perservered with him and the others followed suit when they were ready.I wouldn't go with the pull ups I found that they only hindered the process because they still felt like a nappy.I didn't give rewards just lots of verbal praise. It is tough but I found once I got the first one there it was surprisingly easy..my advice stick with the one that you think is ready and go with it,the others will follow suit when they are ready. Also I used a toddler seat on the big toilet as three little potties became a game...toilets were for wee's and poo's and not games, this is when the two that weren't ready lost interest.I also found that reminders every so often helped as they get so easily caught up in what they are doing.Hope it helps!Good luck!

I can't wait until I can laugh too!! I just have to buckle down and do it! Ans thank goodness we have wood floors too!

Haha, yea, the other two would try to push the one on the toilet off.... And we have to keep the toilet paper on a shelf or they un-roll it or drop the whole thing in the toilet... And I have cleaned up more than my share of pee on the floor.... I have wood floors so it wasn't too bad. But if you have carpet, they sell plastic underwear covers, they actually work really well, they at least keep most of it from ending up soaked into your carpet! I have to laugh about it now, but it was a stressor.

I've heard that girls are easier too. One of my girls is ready for sure but when I take her to the potty the other two are getting into everything or they get mad because i'm spending so much time with just one. Ugghhh! I guess I know what to do but it's just really overwhelming! But I guess your right....If we survived newborn triplets, we can potty train! What's a little (or alot) of pee on the floor??LOL

I have GBG trips, My girls both trained right before they turned 2. I kept a jar of jelly-bellies (the tiny ones) in the bathroom & everytime that they went (not just sat) they got a jelly belly or 2. Then after, they had been telling me often ( I was also taking them as often as I could) then I just put them in underwear. I did them one at a time though.... more than that I think I would have lost it, lol! They had some accidents of course, but each time I put them on the potty and then put them back in clean underwear. 1 to 2 weeks of this if your consistent and they'll be trained. This is how I trained my oldest daughter as well, she is 4 1/2 now and it worked like a charm :) The laundry is a bit overwhelming, but we're moms of triplets... that's a piece of cake compared to sleep deprivation we've all survived! Oh, by the way, my boy.... still working on that one, I think girls are much. much easier!
