I have 4 month old bbg triplets. I was wondering if anyone can tell me a good daily schedule to get them on. They were born at 33 weeks and they all weigh between 10 to 13 lbs. I am trying to get them to sleep better at night so I was wondering what schedule I should keep during the day. They already get cereal in thier last bottle of the night and that helps. Are there any secrets out there? I just need a schedule that can be kept and still gets them what they need.

Thank you
Lindsay

My GBB 11-month-old triplets were born at 31-weeks. By 3 1/2 months 2 were sleeping through the night and by 4 1/2 months they were all sleeping through the night. They sleep 7pm to 6am. We knew they were gearing up to sleep through the night when they started what we called their "feeding frenzy" - right before bedtime when it seemed like they went through bottle after bottle. The ideal bedtime is somewhere between 6:30pm - 7:30pm. The earlier they go down, the better they sleep. If they wake up at night, we know it's not for hunger, so we give them a pacifier and leave - no lingering. A consistant bedtime routine is essential. Bottles at 6pm, then changed for bed, storytime, then bed. Mine were on an every 4-hour schedule when they were that age too. I tried the cereal in the last bottle at night too, but I don't think that helped - more formula did.

Lets see if I can remember. My monkeys were on a 4 hour schedule. 6:00, 10:00, 2:00, 6:00, 10:00 & 2:00. I can't remember how much they were eating them but I was always told it was better for there to be some left in the bottle than for them to take the whole thing. That way you knew they ate all they wanted.

Are they getting breast milk? Some mom's would give formula for their last bottle because they don't digest it as fast.

Have you tried dream feeds? This seemed to help mine sleep longer at night.

Here is a link on drean feedings. http://www.fussybaby.ca/colicandsleepfin... It is towards the bottom of the page.

About 5 or 6 hours is more than likely the longest they are going to sleep at night at this age. But 5 or 6 hours at a time sure is nice at this stage!

Good Luck, I miss my monkeys being babies!
