There are questions every parent knows that their child is going to ask. Where do babies come from? How do they get in there? I have half sibilings and she wants to know how they fit in the family tree? My husband's mother is no longer married to my husband's father and she hasn't figured it out completely but she's dancing around the name game of why her last name doesn't match her grandma's? Now in no way do I want to lie to her but I feel some questions are better left till she's alittle older. Am I wrong for this? How do I give her facts without too many adult details.

I agree with Jennifer. No details are probably needed at this point. Just that she decided to marry Mr. Joe Brown and decided that she wants to have her last name match his or Granny and Grandpa decided not to live together anymore. Granny decided to go back to using her parents last name just like before she was married. Good luck.

Definalty honesty. If you don't want to go into detail you could always take the family tree approach. Sometimes they don't even want the nitty gritty they just need the why answered then they'll come back for more later. Such as Grandmother got married to Mr. Smith and she wants her last name to be Smith too.

Some woman keep their maiden name,some woman get divorced,if you don't say the truth now, when they get older...they will find out the truth~and never believe you..~ for in the past you lied so when important issues come up their not going to believe your telling the truth...and always think your lying and you can't face the truth...so when they get to be adult they will ly too...Children are sponges what they see is what they do,~in their "environment" is what they are going to be like when they get older...!take care,Robin~
