Yeah, our pediatrician suggested juices that are just 100% juice as the best. I buy the Walmart brand apple juice and make it 50/50. We also give them cranberry and white grape juice. Our doc suggested these to be great for helping with constipation.
We started watered juice around that age to give the twins some extra vitamins, especially as my boy was a fussy eater at the time. We didn't buy the Gerbers beause they seemed expensive and really no different from "adult" juices, so I can't say if your kids will prefer waterted juice, but they might, as it'll be a less intense taste. We did 1/3 juice to 2/3s water at room temperature- some thick juices like prune (which did wonders for my boy's constipation problem!) we watered down even more. Now we do half half.
