We are trying one of my twins on soy milk & soy formula for a while. They both had bad reflux when they were born. One outgrew it around 4 mos, the other did not. The one that still has the issue was mildly sensitive to my breast milk, so we suspect he's also sensitive to milk products.

I am completely unfamiliar with soy products. As far as milk goes, does anyone have a suggestion on one product over another or a fat content that's better than another. I don't know if there's a soy product that's equivalent to "whole" milk.

We have been on soy a long time. my twins are 3 now and still on soy. We tried Bright Beginnings but my kids would throw it up about 30 minutes later. I think there are some preservatives that they don't tolerate in it. We have had to supplement calories in real food. You can only do so much with soy milk...you can add coconut milk to it and it taste really yummy. My guess is your little one has a protien intolerance like my Colby does....you'll find the foods that they can't tolerate. Solid foods were the best thing that every happened to my reflux babies. They actually don't drink that much milk anymore...Carlee hates it but she really likes veggies so I give her a lot and other foods to supplement her vits and mins....also a nice liquid vit can be helpful

We use rice milk. Just make sure whatever substitute milk you choose is enriched, and have them on a high fat diet (which they need anyway).

I had to use Soy for my Singleton due to intolerance of cows milk formula. I used Enfalac Soy, it is apparently the closest you can get to 'Whole fat' Cows formula, and he thrived on it. I am intolerant to dairy & unfortunately my son also was as a baby & toddler. Thankfully he outgrew it by the time he was about 4yrs.

I have been feeding my twins both Similac Soy Fourmula since they were 1 1/2 months old. I did not produce enought breast milk for one of them much less two so I had to give them fourmula. I choose to go with soy because all the babies in my family do not tolerate milk based fourmulas, and their dad was allergic to milk as a child. I know that goats milk is also good for babies with reflux issues, my niece had to be on goats milk it was the only thing that didn't cause problems with her reflux.
While breastfeeding were you eating dairy or drinking milk? If you were there is a possibility that your child is lactose intolerant and getting the lactose from your diet. Its a possiblility but if you still want to breast feed its worth a shot to take out all dairy based products and see if that solves the problem. If not I would ask your pediatician which brand of soy formula or goats milk they would recommend.

If your looking for calories in a soy drink, I used Bright Beginnings Soy Pediatric Drink. It only comes in Vanilla but has calories like Pediasure without milk protiens in it.. The major downfall of it is 6 8oz cans for $8.49. You can find it at some King Soopers stores (Kroger).
