any suggestions on how to get rid of the bedtime bottle?

My twin daughters are 13 months old and are drinking milk (were weaned off of formula). They drink out of sippy cups throughout the day - water and milk. They do really well with the sippy cups, but I don't know what is the best way to wean them from the bedtime bottle. I would appreciate any suggestions anyone might have.

I have no grand suggestion...other than have them help you during the day pack up the bottles in a box. At night offer then the milk sippy cup ...snuggle read books and then off to bed. We transitioned w/ a nite nite snack to help supplement the "food" feeling in the belly before bed. I would have to guess that they dont really "need" the bottle, its just a nice snuggle item.

Do the girls have a snuggle item?

It was actually harder for us to get rid of my daughters 4am bottle...it was the LAST to go!! She was MAD when I did it too....I put room temp water in the bottle which she DID not want....I did that maybe 2 nights/mornings in a row and then she didnt want it any more....she still woke up for about a week but w/ snuggles I got her back to sleep.

I would have to bet the first few nights they will be "mad/confused" but offer the sippy if they are use to that...and just calmly say if you need something to drink its right here...and the hugs & kisses...

hope it goes well....
