Any way to know which twin was the "original"? LOL

The doctors told us that they could tell our boys were identical because they shared a placenta. This may sound like a silly question, but is there anyway to know which baby was the "original" fertilized egg? Just a totally random question that has puzzled my husband and myself. LOL We are still totally amazed by these little miracles and want to know everything we can about them. TIA!

yea if twins are identical, there is no original egg. It's the same zygote, split into two.

They both were. When the egg was fertilized and the cells started to divide, they both divided together, so to speak. At some point in the division, they separated into 2 distinct individuals, so they both were the "original."
