well, my husband is a total rugged kind of guy and he would not let me do any doll or cartoon themes for mine. I had thought of raggedy ann and andy for their halloween costumes but he will not let my son dress up as a doll so I was a little more limited. Even his airplane nursery had to be decorated in REAL fighter jets rather than the baby ones. So I dont know that I can have too many ideas for you but we did their birthday theme in bubbles. It was easy because you can get all kinds of really cool bubble blowers and toys for really cheap and there are even many things that are fun for grown-ups to play with. You can get a cake with sugar-blown bubbles and they can be different colors if you want you can get clear balloons and have them floating around everywhere but the thing I liked about that theme is that even at age 1, they LOVE bubbles so it is still something for them that they will actually be able to enjoy. With a theme like that too, you can do ANYTHING with it because it is not so concrete as having a character as a theme. Anyways, hope this helps. (By the way, if I HAD done characters, I would totally have done R.Ann and andy because I LOVE them!)

My twins both loved Thomas the Tank engine so I went with that theme.. used actual train pieces for the cake that they could play with later.. Lucked out and found coverall style shorts and a dress in matching blue and white pin stripped pattern. I kept the colors very generic and pastel, the blues were a light denim so very unisex. As they go older, we did Scooby doo and dalmations, themes that appeal to both sexes.

Hi Jessi....I also have B/G Twins and I did the sesame street characters. I made two little cakes with candles on top of Elmo and Cookie Monster Candles and then did one big cake of Elmo. The rest of the decorations was the baby sesame street characters...was great and the kids came down our stairs in our arms to the Elmo song greeting everyone. :) Personally I believe they should always have a small cake themselves and then one big one for everyone.

My girls love Mickey Mouse Club House so we went with that. But we originally wanted to to Dr. Sues "Thing 1 and Thing 2".

For our twins first birthday we did a Noah's ark theme. We had a cake made from the bakery that was a ark and they put 2 animals together. Like two elephants, two giraffes, etc. It was such a big hit that everyone still talks about it.
